Shipping & Delivery Policy for Food Basket Canada

At Food Basket Canada, we are committed to delivering high-quality African and Caribbean groceries quickly, safely, and reliably across Edmonton and throughout Canada. Please review our shipping and delivery guidelines before placing your order.

This policy applies to all orders placed in-store, online for pickup, online for Edmonton delivery, and online orders shipped across Canada.

  1. LOCAL DELIVERY (Edmonton & Surrounding Areas)

1.1 Instant Delivery (Within 20 km)

We offer instant delivery within 1 hour for delivery addresses located within 20 km of our store.

– Available 7 days a week

– Delivery fees are calculated at checkout

– Orders must be paid before dispatch

1.2 Same-Day Delivery (Within 55 km)

Weekdays (Mon–Fri):

– Orders before 3 PM → Same day

– Orders after 3 PM → Next day

Weekends (Sat–Sun):

– Orders before 10 AM → Same day

– Orders after 10 AM → Next day

  1. CANADA-WIDE SHIPPING

We ship dry goods, frozen foods, and perishables across Canada following guidelines to preserve quality.

  1. SHIPPING OF FROZEN & PERISHABLE ITEMS (Outside Edmonton)

Frozen/fresh items require a 2-business-day delivery option at checkout.

– Longer delivery methods will not be shipped.

– Insulated packaging and ice packs keep items frozen for up to 48 hours.

– Couriers do not deliver on weekends.

 

Shipping Schedule:

Monday–Wednesday:

– Shipped same or next day to meet 2-business-day delivery.

Thursday–Sunday:

– Shipped on Monday only.

  1. SHIPPING OF DRY GOODS (Non-Perishable Items)

Dry goods ship any day Monday–Friday.

– Orders placed Monday–Friday ship next business day.

– No weekend shipping.

– Processing time: 1–2 business days.

  1. SHIPPING RATES & COURIERS

Shipping rates are calculated based on weight and distance.

Partner carriers include: Canpar, Purolator, ICS, UPS, and FedEx.

Customers are responsible for shipping fees.

  1. ORDER TRACKING

Tracking information is emailed once the order is shipped.

  1. UNDELIVERABLE PACKAGES

Undeliverable packages returned to Food Basket Canada will be refunded for product cost only (shipping fees excluded). A new order must be placed for re-shipping.

  1. CUSTOMER REMINDERS

– Freeze frozen items immediately upon arrival.

– Perishables outside Edmonton require 2-business-day shipping.

– Frozen items ship Mon–Wed; Thu–Sun orders ship Monday.

– Food Basket Canada is not responsible for spoilage caused by courier delays or customer-selected long shipping methods.
